Database Terms

(1) A database is a collection of data elements (facts) stored in a computer in a systematic way, such that a computer program can consult it to answer questions.
(2) Database Management System (DBMS) That is a computer program (or more typically, a suite of them) designed to manage a database, a large set of structured data, and run operations on the data requested by numerous users.

Introduction

I am a computer lecturer at the Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong (www.vtc.edu.hk).

The purpose of this blog is to illustrate my teaching in the subject "Database Development" for the students of Foundation Certificate (Computing). They are enthusiatic adults who work at the day time and work hard in the evening for elevating their educational standard, so that they can serve the community better with higher production.
